The first civil service reforms. Government bureaucrats were to receive regular salaries based on a fixed scale. The act also established official regulations for functionaries and raised the number of posts filled by competitive recruitment. | 1 |

Anglo-Turkish Treaty on the status of Mosul. In 1924 the Turks had submitted a claim to the region before the League of Nations. The League's ruling awarded most of the territory to Iraq, including the big oil fields. By this treaty, the Turks officially accepted the League's decision. | 2 |
