| Dr. Alfredo Zayas, candidate of the coalition National League, elected, but his opponent, José Gómez (Liberal), launched accusations of fraud. To prevent conflict the U.S. government sent Gen. Enoch Crowder, who arranged for new elections (March 15, 1921), which resulted in another victory for Zayas. | 3 |
