Hitler denounced the clauses of the Versailles treaty providing for international control of German rivers.  2
 
Nov. 18
 
The German government recognized the Insurgent government of Gen. Franco in Spain. From the beginning of the civil war in Spain, the Germans had openly sided with the rebels, supplying Franco with armaments and technical experts, as well as with some troops (See Nov. 18).  3
