Continuation of the tariff war with Great Britain. Ireland suffered tremendously from the loss of its export markets, and much discontent developed.  1

The “loop line” at Greenisland, Co. Antrim, was opened. It had been built as part of a government scheme of public works to relieve unemployment.  2
