The IFS census noted a population of 2,968,420. In Feb. 1937 a census of Northern Ireland noted a population of 1,279,745. This was a net decrease of 3 percent for the island, which had a total population of 4,381,951 in 1911. Taken separately, the IFS faced a declining population while Northern Ireland saw a population increase. | 2 |
