All nonauthorized religious associations were ordered to regularize their positions within three months. This decree also ordered dissolution and dispersion of the Jesuits within three months and dissolution of all religious teaching associations within six months.  1

The Communards were granted amnesty. The Communards included numerous radicals who had spearheaded the growing working-class movements before 1870, and their amnesty was thus closely tied to the growth of working-class organizations and socialism.  2
