Five Central African nations agreed to send the approximately 1.8 million refugees back to Rwanda.  2

The security situation in the refugee camps along the Zairean border continued to deteriorate. The Zairean government forcibly repatriated 15,000 refugees to Rwanda. Hutu militia launched an attack on the border village of Kanama, killing 100 civilians.  3
