The Parity Amendment to the constitution gave U.S. citizens the right to equal access to Philippine resources. The amendment passed partly because of the propagandizing of Roxas.  1

The U.S. was given the right to military bases in the Philippines on a 99-year lease. Nationalists were upset by these actions.  2
