To protest continued Dutch rule of West New Guinea, the government, on Dec. 1, ordered a 24-hour strike against Dutch businesses. On Dec. 5 the government asked the Netherlands to close all consular missions except the one in Jakarta and announced the expulsion of all Dutch nationals from the country. On Dec. 9 the government expropriated Dutch agricultural properties. | 2 |
