Nationwide student protests and transport worker strikes forced the Nicaraguan government to increase university funding, to stop bus line deregulation, and to cut fuel taxes.  1

Nicaragua and Honduras agreed to a military pact that included Nicaragua in negotiations over a 12,000 sq. mi. piece of coastal territory that was already shared between Colombia and Honduras.  2
