The ROMANIAN PEACE TREATY was signed in Paris. It called for reparations, reduction of armaments, and the return of Transylvania to Romania.  1

Julius Maniu, leader of the National Peasant Party, was arrested, together with some one hundred members of the opposition, on charges of espionage and treason. He was sentenced to solitary confinement for life.  2

The National Peasant Party was dissolved.  3

Foreign Minister Tatarescu, a noncommunist, resigned and was succeeded by veteran Communist Anna Pauker.  4
