A cache of 120 tons of arms, hidden in humanitarian aid containers, was discovered at Slovenia's largest airport, causing a scandal for the president, the prime minister, and the interior and defense ministers, who were accused of engineering the delivery.	1

Pope John Paul II visited Slovenia for the second time since the predominantly Roman Catholic nation gained independence from Yugoslavia in 1991.	3
