The Biltmore Declaration. American Jewish organizations threw their weight behind the establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine. By the end of World War II, the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust (See 1939, Sept. 1) had persuaded most American Jews to back the Zionist program.  2
