King Boris III died suddenly and was succeeded by his six-year-old son, Simeon II. A council of regency, including Prince Cyril, Bogdan Filov, and Gen. Nichola Michov, was established and approved by the Bulgarian Parliament (Sept. 9).  1

Bulgaria accepted armistice conditions laid down by the Soviet government in accord with other Allied nations. (See Bulgaria)  2
