A revolutionary committee formed from the defeated army, led by colonels Nikolas Plastiras and Stylianos Gonatas, assumed power. It set up a token civilian government, which was replaced by a military government in November, and demanded Constantine's abdication. Venizelos declined to participate in the revolution.  4
