Pilsudski again took over the premiership (until Nov. 28) in order to break the Leftist opposition. Many of the radical leaders were tried and imprisoned (including Witos).  1

Finally, the elections returned a majority of deputies supporting the government bloc. Pilsudski's control was complete, but the country began to suffer severely from the world depression, and the unrest attending general want produced an ever greater tendency on the part of the ruling group to turn to more conservative policies.  2
