Christian IV, king of Denmark and duke of Holstein, was the head of the Lower Saxon circle of the empire and leader of the Protestants.  1
Albert (Albrecht) von Wallenstein (1583–1634), born in Bohemia of an Utraquist family but educated in the Catholic faith, made duke of Friedland in 1624 and became the commander of an imperial army recruited by himself and provisioned by a system of robbery.  2

Wallenstein defeated Mansfeld at the Bridge of Dessau and pursued him through Silesia to Hungary, where Mansfeld joined Bethlen Gabor. Death of Mansfeld and of Christian of Brunswick (1626).  3
