A 20-year agreement with the United States was signed, providing for the joint defense of Greenland against the threat of attack or invasion.  1

Following a setback in the April 21 elections, Premier Eriksen's coalition Agrarian-Liberal-Conservative government announced its resignation. King Frederick asked members of the Social Democratic Labor Party to form a new cabinet.  2
 
June 5
 
King Frederick signed a new constitution that abolished the upper house of the Parliament and enlarged the lower house (Folketing).  3
 
Sept. 30
