Marital law: A national referendum approved the reform of the 1907 marital law, effective Jan. 1, 1988, which described husband and wife as equal partners, gave a spouse not in paid employment the right to an income from his or her partner, and, in cases of divorce, established the wife's right to half of the family wealth. | 2 |
