Premier Antonio de Oliveira Salazar permitted the formation of opposition parties. Censorship was removed on Oct. 12, and a political amnesty was granted. Yet on Oct. 14, because of immediate attacks against his government, Salazar reimposed the censorship of the press. | 1 |
