Siam declared war on Germany and Austria-Hungary, and in the summer of 1918 sent a small expeditionary force to Europe. The war enabled the government to inaugurate the work of freeing the country of extraterritoriality and tariff restriction. By the peace treaties Germany, Austria, and Hungary were obliged to abandon their claims in these matters. | 1 |
