CONCLUSION OF THE PACT OF FRIENDSHIP WITH YUGOSLAVIA, bringing to an end the long period of hostility and opening the way for closer relations between Bulgaria and the other Balkan powers.  1

More than 40 political leaders petitioned the tsar for free elections and a return to constitutionalism. Thereupon the tsar promulgated a new electoral law providing for free voting by men and married women but forbidding candidates to run as representatives of the old parties.  2
