The admission of Germany to the League was postponed because of complications raised by Spain and Brazil regarding seats on the council.  1
 
March 26
 
Romania and Poland concluded a treaty of alliance.  2
 
June 10
 
Spain announced withdrawal from the League but later rescinded this decision.  3
 
Aug. 7
 
Italy concluded a treaty of friendship with Spain. This was followed by similar treaties with Ethiopia (Aug. 2, 1928) and with Greece (Sept. 23, 1928).  4
 
Aug. 17
 
Yugoslavia concluded a treaty with Greece, settling the question of the Yugoslav free zone at Saloniki. Yugoslavia gained more extensive privileges at Saloniki in a later treaty (March 17, 1929). This was followed by a treaty of friendship between the two nations on March 27, 1929.  5
 
Sept. 8
 
Germany was admitted to the League and given a permanent seat on the council.  6
 
Sept. 18
